Gingerbread
House

This is a fun project to make with kids, it's a simple gingerbread
house. It doesn't need to be huge & complicated.

You need :
Gingerbread dough (See Christmas Cookies page)
Icing :
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
3 Tbsp. Meringue Powder
1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/2 cup warm water
candies & cookies
pastry bag with small tip
First create a pattern.
Then roll the chilled gingerbread dough until 1/4 inch thick
Place the pattern on it & cut around the edges.
Bake the dough at 350 degrees on greased baking sheet
for 20 minutes about. (until firm)
Icing :
Mix all ingredients until smooth (use an electric mixer if possible).
Like cement, it dries very fast, so use it immediately
or cover and refrigerate.
Starts building your gingerbread house on a thick paper plate.
Put the icing in the pastry bag.
Use icing as cement & decorate with candies & cookies.
Broken life-savers candies can look like "stained glass" windows.
Most important, have fun!
